Lisieux is the capital of the Pays d'Auge. The
exceptional history of Lisieux offers the visitor
the possibility of staying in the heart of an
authentic region. A walk enables one to discover
the Lisieux of the Middle Ages. The town has kept
its timber-framed houses and typical manor houses
which deserve to be appreciated and which are
presented during guided tours in season. The Saint-Pierre
cathedral, a remarkable site to be discovered
alongside other monuments to Saint Thérèse,
is the finest one. Thanks to a route marked with
signs "Lisieux in the XIXth century",
you will be able to walk the town in the steps
of the Little Flower. And of course, with its
green environment which has earned it its title
of « ville à la campagne »
(a city in the country) and its gastronomic specialities
offered by the restauranteurs in the form of regional
meals, the town offers a particularly varied range
of activities.
