There are two places of worship on the Mont-Saint-Michel:
the church of Saint-Pierre and the Abbey. The
Abbey is served by the Monastic Fraternity of
Jerusalem. Five monks and seven cloistered nuns
provide the liturgical service. Accommodation
on a small scale is available (10 beds) for part
of the year.
The church of Saint-Pierre,
which is located in the middle of the village,
has been the parish church of the Mont for more
than ten centuries. It is also the church of the
Shrine of Saint Michael the Archangel whose statue
occupies a place of honour in the side chapel.
A diocesan team led by a priest provides the service
of prayer and welcome.

This team also manages the "Maison du Pèlerin"
(Pilgrim's House) (last house at the top of the
street) where the offices, the seat of the Archconfraternity,
the SILOË bookshop and the Saint-Aubert Reception
Centre (two heated and equipped rooms which permit
hosting about fifty people for a conference, a
meeting or a picnic) are located. |
